Management & Directors
Mr. Dwight Romanica – Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Romanica has worked extensively with public companies for over 20 years. He has proven experience and a successful track record serving on boards, raising capital and managing growth. He was a founder of Canmax, a point of sales software company which he grew to annual revenues of $25MM, 150 employees, and achieved a Nasdaq Small Cap listing. In 1994, the company was acquired by Electronic Data Systems Inc. (EDS) at a market capitalization of $160MM.
Mr. Romanica was subsequently retained as the Entrepreneur in Residence at MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates where he was instrumental in executing a series of acquisitions focusing on North America's top land information companies including the $250MM acquisition of Marshall & Swift / Boeckh (MS/B). Mr. Romanica has also served as the president of Appareo, a knowledge management company where he negotiated the acquisition of PDSI, a division of Polaroid and more recently was retained as Chairman by Wall Street based ActForex to execute a strategic growth strategy in the Retail Foreign Exchange Market.
Mr. Tom Mitchell – Director and Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Mitchell is the founder of ISEE3D and the inventor of the company’s core technology. During his previous tenure with ISEE3D Inc. (formerly International Telepresence) he operated the company as a medical device company manufacturing endoscopy imaging systems for 11 years and took this company public. He had left the company when they changed their direction to Video Streaming technology.
Mr. Mitchell is a registered Professional Engineer with a degree in Electrical Engineering and minor in the Master’s Management Science program from the University of Waterloo.
Mr. Mitchell was part of the team at MacDonald Dettwiler that developed the technology and petitioned the Federal government to change the rules to transmit data over radio. This technology division was sold to Motorola and is seen today in literally every mobile data device, used by police, taxi data terminals, and Federal Express.
Mr. Tom Dalrymple – Chief Financial Officer, CA
A financial professional for 29 years and a Chartered Accountant, Mr. Dalrymple worked as CFO dealing with multiple partnerships and companies in an international environment for the past 8 years. Prior he worked as a senior Financial Manager/General Manager in a large conglomerate operation with sales in access of $500 million. He has had considerable experience with start up operations to thriving enterprises.
Mr. Jolyon Burton- Director
Mr. Burton is a co-founder of Bloom Burton & Co. and serves as its CEO and Head of Investment Banking. Prior to founding Bloom Burton & Co., Mr. Burton spent six years at Dundee Securities Corporation, leading their Healthcare & Biotechnology Investment Banking Group, which he joined in September 2003. Mr. Burton has since been involved in numerous public financings on the TSX, TSX Venture Exchange, NASDAQ, AMEX and AIM Market. At Dundee, Mr. Burton helped the team grow into a North American biotechnology financing and M&A specialist, completing financings for private companies, engineering several M&A transactions, completing IPOs, CPCs and international financings. Prior to joining Dundee, Mr. Burton worked at another leading independent investment dealer, which he joined in October 2000. While there, he completed various public and private transactions in the fields of high tech, media and communications, healthcare and biotechnology, mining and special situations. Prior to that, Mr. Burton helped establish a subsidiary for a large, international auto parts company based in Germany and also held positions with the Export Development Corporation, the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and Statistics Canada.
Mr. Burton holds an Honours B.A. in Economics and Applied Studies with specializations in Finance and International Trade from the University of Waterloo, Ontario.
Ms. Helen Kim – Director
In May 2008, Ms. Helen Kim joined the Board of Directors of the company. Ms. Kim was introduced to the company through a recent demonstration of its technology in Korea and represents the interest of SoftForum and Hyundai LCD of South Korea in North America. Ms. Kim brings a wealth of vision and opportunity to the company through her extensive association with world renowned technology development and manufacturing concerns worldwide.
Mr. Ilya Sorokin - Director
Mr. Sorokin is an independent director of the company. He is the Founder and President of ActForex Inc. a Wall Street business active in the Forex markets. Mr. Sorokin has 20 years of executive management and Information Technology experience. He has provided strategic level consulting to Companies such as Microsoft, Nasdaq, AIG, and Aetna among many others.
Mr. Sorokin’s strength is in building highly efficient and effective technology companies with a focus upon revenue generation.
Mr. R. Nigel Horsley – Vice President Corporate Communications Mr. Horsley has specialized in founding and nurturing technology start-ups, raising investment, managing the media relations, investor relations, publicity, strategic partnering, growth strategies and has extensive public company experience, including board memberships. He was first associated with International Telepresence Corp. in late 1992 and helped pioneer the introduction of 3D in arthroscopy, laparoscopy and ENT procedures on live humans. He was one of co-founders of the new entity Isee3D Inc. and was variously a director, vice president and general manager until late 1999 by when the company had moved to Montreal. He then continued his work with RailPower Technologies, which he also co-founded, and remained active with RailPower until late 2005. He was also one of the founding management of General Hydrogen Corporation. Prior to re-joining Isee3D in late 2009, he was involved in clean tech and is currently a co-founder of Castagra Products Inc., a plastics company. Mr. Horsley has worked extensively in the broadcast and print media and public relations, both in the UK and Canada. In Vancouver, he was Executive Producer at CKVU First News and also worked at CBC TV and CBC Radio. In the UK, he worked for LBC/IRN (radio) for over five years. He was also a staff consultant for one of the world's largest public affairs firms, Hill & Knowlton, in the Vancouver office.
